Kim Benage, MD
Philosophy of Care: Every single person deserves to have a health home. I love working in an environment where I can follow my patients over time and we can collaborate to set healthy goals.
Why I Choose to Work at Clinica: This was my first job out of residency and I am proud to have contributed at Clinica for 11 years. I enjoy practicing full-spectrum care and working as one of our group visit trainers. I believe in the mission of Clinica and the value we bring to our community through dedicated, patient-centered care.
Residency: St. Anthony Family Medicine Residency, Westminster, CO, 2006
Additional Education: Chief resident, 2007, St. Anthony Family Medicine Residency
Outside Clinica: Busy mom of four kids. I enjoy running, skiing and camping, especially visiting National Parks that are new to our family. Even though I was born in Kansas City, Missouri, my extended family lives in Kansas and I am a huge Kansas Jayhawk basketball fan.
Volunteer Experience: I volunteer at the YMCA, coaching youth basketball and previously served for 5 years on the youth development committee. I volunteer at church, Spirit of Christ, teaching in the children’s programs and mentoring engaged couples. I also volunteer with our elementary school PTA, working on teacher appreciation activities.
Professional Affiliations: American Academy of Family Physicians
Awards: Carl Flaxler, MD award- selected by resident peers as the most helpful resident in our program. Scott Spaeth award in residency to pursue international medical experiences.
