Zachary C. Wachtl MD
Philosophy of Care: To listen and counsel with empathy and integrity, to understand the whole person, to encourage embracing the mind-body connection, to care for the whole family, to advise on evidence-based recommendations but remain sensitive to individual preferences and circumstances
Why I Choose to Work at Clinica:I have always wanted to provide care for those who may not have easy access to care otherwise; it feels right to me to give back to society when I know I have been given so much. I also have wanted to use my Spanish language skills on a regular basis, and I enjoy working with my Hispanic patient population. Clinica allows me to practice a wide range of care, not just office visits but also delivering babies, inpatient medicine, and vasectomies, that I may not have access to elsewhere.
Residency: University of Colorado- Rose Family Medicine, 2010
Outside Clinica: Running in and training for half marathons. Skiing, and teaching my family to ski with me. Trying new restaurants. Growing vegetables in our garden. Traveling with my wife and 2 small children (we have driven across the country several times already) Favorite foods: Cheese (I am from Wisconsin!) and bacon (its what keeps me from being vegetarian).
Volunteer Experience: Colorado Academy of Family Physician (served as Board member since 2010, am currently President of the Board).
Professional Affiliations: Colorado Academy of Family Physicians. American Academy of Family Physicians
Awards: Colorado Academy of Family Physician’s Resident of the Year, 2010
